Client: Terang and Mortlake Health Service
Project title: Mortlake Community Health Centre Redevelopment Planning for delivering a contemporary community health service for future generations
Category: Health
The client
Terang and Mortlake Health Service (TMHS) is a regional health centre in Western Victoria offering acute care, aged care, community services and primary care to communities across an area of over 3,000 km2.
The challenge
The management team had some prior success with funding for minor projects from the Victorian Hospital Building Authority, but sought professional assistance from GrantHelper to lodge a major funding request for a redevelopment project.
Being occupied with daily business activities, the team recognised the more onerous application workload of a larger grant would inhibit their chances of success, and thus engaged us to provide the necessary additional resources, coordination of activities and grant expertise.
Our solutions
GrantHelper took the lead role on this application — identifying and communicating all requirements and running weekly progress reviews to ensure tasks were completed and the application remained on track.
We facilitated all review meetings and took on the burden of compiling comprehensive supporting materials to validate the application. We also provided strategic guidance on the write-up approach to ensure a compelling submission was produced.
Outcomes
Working collaboratively to produce a well-aligned submission that covered all the evaluation merit criteria, we were able to help the health centre secure $403,000 in grant funding. The submission also included research on population statistics which verified the need for improved health services in the region.
The combination of detailed, complete responses and supporting data provided the Victorian Hospital Building Authority with the highest level of confidence in the management team’s capability to successfully execute the project.
What made this grant project a success?
The management team’s responsiveness and dedication to the application meant all drafted materials were quickly reviewed; this enabled us to swiftly develop and refine a strong submission.
