Client: Heatherdale Preschool
Project title: Doubling the footprint of the centre to enable dedicated learning rooms for 3- and 4-year-old children
Category: Early Learning, Not-for-profit
The client
Heatherdale Preschool is a not-for-profit community Early Learning Centre providing preschool education to 3- and 4-year-olds.
The challenge
The school’s management committee are all volunteers, holding down day jobs and caring for toddlers; they also typically contribute their energies to the preschool only for a limited timeframe of around one to two years.
Being time-poor and lacking the necessary long-term investment in the future of the centre meant that management was not well placed to handle the application for a grant for a significant infrastructure expansion. Complex coordination, a clear strategy and a detailed write-up would be required.
Our solutions
GrantHelper acted as the central conduit and key coordinator for the grant application, ensuring all stakeholders were acutely aware of everything that was required.
We facilitated in-committee meetings about the grant and offered guidance on how best to collate supporting materials. We then formulated an appropriate strategy for the write-up.
Outcomes
We produced a comprehensive submission with detailed responses to all assessment criteria, including statistical population research which helped to solidify the need for pre-school placements in the area.
We collated an array of supporting materials to bolster the application, including a detailed budget and costings, providing the transparency and clarity the education department was seeking to approve the grant application.
What made this grant project a success?
The committee made time for fortnightly meetings across several months to collaborate and provide unified input.
The group was unwavering in its dedication to producing a strong submission, which also generated an archive of quality supporting materials for future generations to benefit from.
