What is the Men’s Shed Funding Program?
The Men’s Shed Funding Program is an initiative by the Victorian Government aimed at supporting the construction, refurbishment, and equipping of men’s sheds across Victoria.
These sheds play a crucial role in fostering social connections and improving the well-being of men within the community.

MSFP objectives
The program is designed with several key objectives in mind:
- Strengthen social connections: Reduce social isolation among men by providing a communal space for interaction.

Projects and expenditure eligible for MSFP support

- Purchasing major equipment: For the first time, the program covers the purchase of major machinery or equipment necessary for the operation of the sheds.

Organisations eligible for MSFP support
Eligible organisations must:
- Have a valid ABN and be incorporated.
- Be based in Victoria.
- If unincorporated, they must arrange an auspice with an incorporated organisation.

Applications will be assessed based on:
- Alignment with program objectives.
- Demonstrated community need.
- The strength of partnerships with local organisations.
- The inclusivity and diversity of the project.
- Organisational capacity and readiness to deliver the project.

How do I get the MSFP?
Applicants must:
- Read and understand the guidelines.
- Ensure eligibility for the funding. Applicants that do not meet all the eligibility criteria will not be considered.
- Deliver the project as outlined in the application.
- Provide complete information requirements.
The department supports applications for projects that:
- specifically target a reduction in social isolation in men by providing a workshop-based male only environment on some days
- support the inclusion of women and gender-diverse people on some days or for specific activities
- create a culturally inclusive atmosphere and encourage multicultural participation
- demonstrate significant value to the social framework of the local community in proportion to the amount of invested funds.

- Provide evidence of your organisation’s eligibility.
- Detail the proposed use of funds and demonstrate your ability to contribute 20% of the project cost.
