What is the Jobs Plus Program?
The Jobs Plus Program is aimed at:
- Reducing the cost for businesses to establish new operations in NSW
- Mitigating their financial risk, and
- Accelerating their ability to scale up operations to capture growth in NSW.
It is offering private and non-government sectors that are planning to invest in job-creating projects with the following support throughout the critical stages of their project implementation:
- Jobs Plus Concierge Service – Access to a dedicated government team to help businesses efficiently navigate and access government agencies and programs
- Payroll tax relief for up to 4 years – Up to a 4-year period, for every new job created where a business has created at least 30 net new jobs as a result of their investment
- Subsidised training package rebates – Partnering in the development of subsidised bespoke skills and training programs that builds specialised skills aimed at sustaining the new jobs into the future
- Enabling infrastructure rebates – Rebates that subsidise the cost of a new or expanding business operation, to connect to shared infrastructure or building new infrastructure to support their business growth needs
- Access to subsidised, short-term Government accommodation and spaces – Short term for a period of up to two years, access to available free or subsidised government accommodation and spaces
- Assistance with the NSW planning approvals – Including fast tracking planning approval pathways and providing advice, together with guidance on appropriate site selection to increase speed to market commercialisation
What is the level of support of the Jobs Plus Program?
Applicants will be eligible for a variety of support levels based on the number of jobs being created
The amount of final support will be at the discretion of the NSW Government
Depending upon the number of new jobs created , up to 50% of project capital expenditure may be available through a grant
In addition to grants the Jobs Plus Program offers a ranges of support services such as concierge, payroll tax relief, planning services and subsidised training.

How to get the Jobs Plus Program?
You must submit your applications before the closing time
Your project must include investment that expands operations and creates new jobs
If you would like to win this funding for your business, you must also have a comprehensive project plan and forward financial project for the next 5 years
You need to convince the assessment committee that you have appropriate resources, financial and project management experience and expertise to successfully delivery the project in its entirety within the proposed project implementation timeline
Your chances of success are increased if your project will lead to increased 30 + new sustainable jobs being created, increased output capability, access to new markets, stimulate supply chain demand and supply, leverage and facilitate private sector investment, provide upskilling and training for an improved workforce for the State’s economy
Most importantly, and before you start an application, you need to ensure your business is eligible for the funding. Organisations that do not meet all of the eligibility criteria outlined below will not be considered

Is my business eligible for Jobs Plus Program?
Eligible businesses must be:
- An existing revenue generating business
- An Australian ABN registered business
- Currently have at least 20 FTE employees in Australia at the time of application
- Have a past operating history of at least two years
- Commit to the creation of a minimum of 30 new FTE jobs in NSW with hiring commencing before 31 December 2022 and delivered by 30 June 2024
Foreign owned entities with at least 80 FTE employees globally providing written intent to establish a subsidiary or branch office in NSW through a physical presence, with staff located and paid in NSW are also eligible to apply
A business will not be eligible if any of the following apply:
- Funding is proposed to be used for the ongoing day-to-day operations of the business
- Funding proposed for the re-hiring of staff previously made redundant subsequent to the announcement of the Program on 5 November 2020
- Funding is proposed for the transferring of staff from one related business to another
- Funding is proposed for an employee who leaves and returns to the business within a period of 6 months
- The project would have proceeded and been delivered on the same timeline without government financial assistance
- The business has already received NSW Government or other funding for the same outputs and/or outcomes
- The project will require NSW Government support beyond the agreed assistance period
- The project cannot be delivered in full before 30 June 2024
What activities are eligible for funding from the Jobs Plus Program?
Examples of eligible projects include activities that invest in equipment and facilities. These include:
- relocating your business operation from out-of-state or internationally to NSW
- establishing or adding a production line to your existing NSW business
- developing a new product or service
- transferring business activities that are currently performed by your company overseas to NSW.
How do you apply for the Jobs Plus Program?

Your application will be verified and checked for feasibility, alignment with NSW Government policy and strategy and the potential for creating FTE jobs in the near term.
If your initial application is successful, you will be invited to submit a more detailed application. You’ll be given help from a relationship manager from NSW Treasury, who will assist you in preparing the second stage of your application.
What information do I need to prepare for the Jobs Plus Program registration?
The following information must be submitted in your registration of interest:
- A short description of the scope of your project, for example, setting up an additional production line for an existing business, developing a new product or service, relocating a business, or onshoring a part of your business into NSW.
- The project’s expected benefit to NSW.
- Estimated total costs of your project.
- Indication of which types of support you may require under the program.
- An estimate of the support you need.
- How many new full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs your project is likely to create.
- The expected location of your project.
- How your project aligns with the NSW 2040 Economic Blueprint, the Global NSW Strategy and/or other relevant NSW Government policy or strategy.
Invitation to a second stage of the program will require additional information and supporting documentation to be submitted
