What is the Supply Chain Capability Improvement Grants (SCCI)?
Moon to Mars Initiative: Supply Chain Capability Improvement Grants (SCCI) is an ambitious program by the Australian Government, aimed at bolstering Australia’s role in the global space industry. This initiative supports the growth of local businesses and researchers, enabling them to connect with international space supply chains and contribute to NASAโs missions to the Moon and Mars.
SCCI level of support
For the current intake, a total of $4 million is allocated to fund projects that can vary from $250,000 to $1 million, covering up to 75% of eligible project expenses. Your project must be completed by December 31, 2026, ensuring timely progress toward extraterrestrial ambitions.

The grant aims to:
- Enhance the capabilities of Australian industries to participate in domestic and international space activities.

Projects eligible for SCCI support
Eligible projects must target the development of products or services that will be integrated into international space supply chains. This includes but is not limited to:
- Development and commissioning of new technologies.
- Significant upgrades to existing systems to meet space industry standards.
- Specialised workforce training and certification.

Organisations eligible for SCCI support
Open to entities with an ABN, registered for GST, and incorporated in Australia as a trading corporation.
Eligibility extends to Australian trading corporations that meet specific operational and financial criteria. Joint applications are welcome, provided there is a lead organisation driving the project.

SCCI assessment criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- The potential impact on Australia’s space industry capabilities.
- The applicantโs capacity to deliver the project successfully.
- The overall economic benefits, such as job creation and industry growth.

How do I get the SCCI?
Applicants must:
- Read and understand the guidelines.
- Ensure eligibility for the funding. Applicants that do not meet all the eligibility criteria will not be considered.
- Deliver the project as outlined in the application.
- Provide complete information requirements.
