What is the Essential Community Sport Assets Program?
The Essential Community Sport Assets Program (CEF) supports sporting organisations and councils repair, reconstruct and improve the resilience of directly damaged sport facilities from the February and June 2022 floods and storms.
The program recognises these floods and storms events have heightened the need for community sport facilities to bring people together, provide support and help create a sense of belonging, identity, and community. The grants are a key recovery measure under the NSW Sport Infrastructure Recovery Fund to help sport facilities enable normal activities sooner and in the longer term to improve facility standards, utilisation, accessibility and resilience.
Funding is provided under two streams. Stream 1 provides funding for councils and Steam 2 provides funding for NSW State Sporting Organisations, incorporated community-based not-for-profit organisations, community sport organisations and private enterprises.
