What is the Australia’s Economic Accelerator (AEA) Seed Grants?
AEA Seed was a pilot program running ahead of the full implementation of the AEA and is supporting proof-of-concept projects (Technology Readiness Level 3 to 5).
Three separate tranches of the AEA Seed Grants called for proposals that addressed the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation priorities of:
- renewables and low emissions technologies,
- medical science,
- value-add in resources,
- value-add in agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors,
- transport,
- defence capability, and
- enabling capabilities.
Tranche 1 and 2 committed over $10 million to 45 projects including:
- 13 renewables and low emission technologies projects
- 12 medical science projects
- 9 value-add in agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors
- 11 value-add in resources
AEA Seed Tranche 3 closed 9 February 2024. The outcomes are yet to be announced
The AEA program’s future grants will be awarded via the full program’s two new grant streams:
- AEA Ignite (proof-of-concept)
- AEA Innovate (proof-of-scale)
