What is the ActiveKIT?
The ActiveKIT Super Round Program, spearheaded by the Queensland Government’s Department of Tourism and Sport, is a strategic initiative designed to foster innovation within the active industry. This program seeks to leverage knowledge, innovation, and technology to boost physical activity participation across Queensland, contributing to healthier communities and system-wide capability improvements.
ActiveKIT level of support
Funding is available across various tiers, tailored to support the developmental stage of the project:
Proof of Concept (POC): Up to $50,000 for initial development.
Minimum Viable Product (MVP): Up to $100,000 for further development.
Advanced Development: Between $100,001 and $200,000 for projects that are beyond the MVP stage.

Organisations eligible for ActiveKIT support
Eligible entities include:
- State-level active industry organizations.
- National Sporting Organisations operating in Queensland.
- Queensland-based not-for-profits and tertiary institutions.
- Startups and SMEs with a physical presence in Queensland and fewer than 50 full-time equivalent employees.

Applications will be assessed based on:
- Alignment with program objectives.
- Innovation and uniqueness of the solution.
- Potential impact on physical activity participation.
- Organizational capacity to deliver the project.

How do I get the ActiveKIT?
Applicants must:
- Read and understand the guidelines.
- Ensure eligibility for the funding. Applicants that do not meet all the eligibility criteria will not be considered.
- Deliver the project as outlined in the application.
- Provide complete information requirements.

Applicants should be ready to provide:
- Detailed project description and alignment with program objectives.
- Evidence of organisational capability.
- Financial co-contributions and detailed budget breakdowns.

Applying for the ActiveKIT
Interested organisations must first submit an EOI through the official Sport and Recreation Grant Registration Portal. Following a review, selected organizations will be invited to submit a full application in Stage 2 of the process.
