What is the Caring for Catchments (CFC)?
The North Coast Regional Landcare Network (NCRLN) is inviting project proposals from landowners and land stewards in the Brunswick, Clarence, Richmond, and Tweed catchments for the Caring for Catchments (CFC) Project. This initiative, funded by the Federal and State Governments through the Northern Rivers Recovery and Resilience Program, aims to enhance catchment health, build flood resilience, and improve biodiversity through riparian revegetation and reforestation. The project seeks to restore up to 240 hectares of native vegetation along 8 kilometres of riverbanks over the next three years.
CFC level of support
- Small Project Grants: $20,000 to $60,000
- Large Project Grants: $60,000 to $160,000
- Technical Assistance: Access to technical support and guidance for project implementation.
- Capacity Building: Opportunities to gain knowledge and skills in riparian restoration and sustainable land management.
- Community Contribution: Being part of a collective effort to improve the health of waterways and communities.

Activities eligible for CFC support
Eligible Activities:

- Knowledge sharing, education, and community engagement programs focused on riparian restoration and flood resilience.
Ineligible Activities:
- Landslip remediation and mitigation.

Organisations eligible for CFC support
The program is open to:
- Private landholders
- Landcare Networks/Groups
- Councils
- Environmental organisations
- Not-for-profit organisations
- First Nations organisations
- Collaborations involving any of the above groups, including government agencies, schools, and educational institutions.

CFC assessment criteria
Applications will be assessed based on:
- Contribution to the project goals.
- Enhancement of project site values and conditions.
- Implementation of best management practices.
- Maintenance of funded outcomes beyond the initial funding.
- Value for money and in-kind or cash contributions from applicants and partners.

Applicants must:
