What is the Targeted Call for Research: Climate-related health impacts and effective interventions to improve health outcomes 2024?

The Targeted Call for Research (TCR) Climate-Related Health Impacts (CRHI) grant program is aimed at providing significant funding support for projects that address the climate-related health challenges. The grant seeks to empower organizations working on innovative solutions for improved health outcomes in the face of climate change.

CRHI level of support

The provisional funding allocation for the TCR: Climate-related health impacts and effective interventions to improve health outcomes 2024 is up to $5 million. Grants are capped at a maximum of $1 million. Following peer review, the top ranked applications will be funded from within the available funding allocation.

The program aims to:

  • Reduce the health risks associated with climate change.
  • Support innovative interventions that improve climate resilience and health outcomes.
  • Encourage collaboration between healthcare and environmental organizations.
  • Promote sustainable practices that reduce environmental impact.

Projects eligible for CRHI support

Projects that qualify for support under the program should directly target climate change’s impacts on health. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Reducing the incidence of climate-related diseases.
  • Enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities.
  • Developing technologies or strategies that mitigate health risks.

  • Ensure eligibility for the funding. Applicants that do not meet all the eligibility criteria will not be considered.
  • Deliver the project as outlined in the application.

  • Budget outline.
  • Evidence of organisational capacity.
  • Letters of support from partners (if applicable).
